To also expect someone to look after your animals whilst you’re away to the standard you want is also a worry. Well you don’t need to worry about either scenario if you employ Gemma. Totally trustworthy and utterly lovely she adores animals (you can’t fake that and my cats love her) and makes you feel completely at ease whilst you’re away. She doesn’t just feed and go she spends time giving love and attention to your pets and when we got home it was obvious they had been well looked after, fed watered and loved. Gemma is also a fully qualified veterinary nurse with years of experience so you are leaving your pets safe in the knowledge that she will know exactly what to do if they need medical attention. “I first approached Gemma to cat sit my 5 year old cat after he became seriously ill and thereafter required a special diet and medication which meant he couldn’t be left for long periods of time. “We have used Gemma’s home visit service for over two years now, ever since one of our rescue cats Austin was placed on lifetime medication which requires administration twice daily plus a special diet which meant no longer sharing food with his “brother” Albert. “I don’t know what we would do without Gemma these days. She is totally reliable and so loving towards our cats. We have 3 and their food regime is quite complicated and one of them needs a tablet every other day. In the past, when we went away, we had to either put them in a cattery (expensive and very stressful for the cats) or stop the tablet and complicated food regime, which was not good for them. Now, Gemma allows everything to continue perfectly. She also gives them a few treats! She sends us lovely videos of the cats from time to time and it’s obvious that they love her. And what’s even better, we know that if she thought one of them was poorly whilst under her care she would do something about it. She’s genuinely fabulous. It really allows us to relax on holiday.”

“Gemma has helped look after two of our cats over the last few years. Our first cat, P, was older with a chronic condition requiring daily medication (which she took great pride in avoiding), so Gemma’s nursing skills were put to good use in getting pills eaten and generally keeping our cat healthy and happy until her condition became terminal.

Gemma has continued to help us with our current cat, Colin, who we adopted as a timid kitten when he was recovering from limb amputation. Gemma’s own experience with amputee cats meant she was a valuable source of knowledge in the early days and she has been able to help Colin realise that visitors are quite nice actually (especially if they bring treats).
